Cutting boards and Charcuterie/Serving trays
While solid wood cutting boards are built to last decades, they are also very sensitive to changes in moisture and temperature. Store in a cool, dry location, and avoid sudden or repeated changes in temperature and/or humidity. We warranty our cutting boards and charcuterie/serving boards against cracking/splitting for three years, provided that the owner adheres to our recommended maintenance plan.
Rinse with warm, soapy water and dry immediately. Let the board dry on its edge, as any moisture trapped beneath it may cause the board to warp or crack.
For stubborn stains or odors, squeeze the juice from one lemon on the board and apply coarse salt to the surface. Scrub the surface, ensuring the salt draws the stain or smell from the board. Rinse under running water and re-apply board butter.
TO MAINTAIN A WOOD CUTTING BOARD or charcuterie:
Apply Board Butter monthly when cutting board is used regularly (4 times per week or more). Apply board butter liberally once every few months or when the colour of the board begins to fade, allowing it to soak into the board and wipe dry with paper towel or cloth.
No wood products are dishwasher safe, and do not take kindly to soaking.
